Joanna Osborne
Training and Experience
Joanna is a Europe Accredited EMDR Practitioner and a BACP Accredited Counsellor. She works with warmth and compassion and explains mental health symptoms in an easy-to-understand way. She accepts people for who they are and in their current life circumstances and gives people the experience of being fully heard and understood. Joanna has worked as a counsellor for over twenty years.
Qualifications: BA(Hons) Humanistic Counselling, Advanced Diploma Integrative Counselling, Europe Accredited EMDR Practitioner and Domestic Abuse Prevention Advocate.
Prior to working in private practice, Joanna worked as both a senior primary care counsellor and a psychological therapist within the NHS. Here she’s delivered counselling and EMDR therapy, both on a face-to-face basis and remotely. She has extensive experience in counselling within the charity sector, including working with the homeless, and with those who were losing their eyesight. Furthermore, she was employed for many years in an employee assistance program where she delivered therapy to corporate clients.
Joanna herself has experienced her own personal counselling and EMDR therapy in her journey towards healing and growth as a person. Through her diverse experience, she has a natural ability to inspire hope that people can and do get better and believes change is possible when we allow ourselves the space to do the work.
Before becoming a counsellor, Joanna worked within the learning disability sector.
Philosophy
Joanna tailors her therapy to fit the difficulties you are experiencing and the goals you wish to set. There is no “one size fits all” to therapy. Our sessions are focused on you and in feeling safe and comfortable, you will be able to gain clarity over what you want to achieve. I’m here to support you to get there.
