Having previously worked in Education for many years she has witnessed and experienced the powerful positive effect art can have on an individual’s mental health and well-being.
Approach
Louise believes in the healing power of Art, engaging in art making enables us to stay in the present moment, it promotes creativity, self expression and can help develop neural pathways in the brain through sensory stimulus. Louise has worked with clients for long and short term interventions and uses a person-centred approach. She encourages her clients to engage in art making in a non-judgmental, secure and comfortable therapeutic environment. Art making provides a safe space to experiment and play, allowing individuals to explore and express themselves in an embodied way. Louise works relationally with clients, building a strong therapeutic relationship that can explore behaviours, patterns and attachment histories in the individual’s life, a chance to reflect, develop and grow.
